Does Your Client Need to File CAT Tax?
The inheritance tax threshold in Ireland varies depending on the size of the inheritance or gift and your client’s relationship to the deceased. If your client has reached 80% or above the threshold for any of these 3 groups, they should file the Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) IT38 form with Revenue, even though no tax may be due.

TAX FREE ALLOWANCE
€20,000
Includes everyone else.
